PEG-MGF

In plain English

PEG-MGF is mechano growth factor with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain attached. That chain shields it from breaking down, so instead of lasting minutes it stays active for days and reaches muscles throughout the body.

What it's used for

  • Muscle growth and recovery throughout the body
  • Muscle repair after injury

Benefits

In animal studies, MGF supported muscle stem cells and repair; pegylation lets that effect last longer. Users report improved recovery and fuller muscles over several weeks of use.

How it works

In simple terms: it is MGF made to last, so it can work throughout the body instead of only at the injection site.

The PEG chain protects the peptide from enzymes and slows its removal by the kidneys. It acts on muscle stem cells (satellite cells) the same way MGF does.

Development history

  • 2000s: Developed after MGF was found to break down within minutes.
  • Today: More common with users than plain MGF, because it is easier to use.

Typical protocols

Educational information only, not medical advice. The information below describes how this peptide has been used in research, on prescription labels or by users. It is not a recommendation. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping or changing anything.

These ranges are what users commonly report.

Use Dose Frequency Length
Growth and recovery 200–400 mcg 2–3 times a week, often on rest days 4–8 weeks

Cycling

Commonly run for 4–8 weeks, then a break.

Administration options

Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.

Reconstitution and dosing calculator

Usually comes in 2 mg vials, mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water.

1Peptide in the vial

The total amount printed on the vial label.

2Bacteriostatic water added

More water makes each dose a bigger, easier-to-measure draw. It does not change how much peptide is in the vial.

3Dose per injection

Use the dose from your protocol or your clinician. 1 mg = 1,000 mcg.

4Your syringe

All three are U-100 insulin syringes: 100 units = 1 mL. Smaller barrels make small doses easier to read.

    Side effects and safety

    • Injection-site redness or soreness.
    • Possible low blood sugar or fatigue.
    • Long-term effects in people are unknown.
    • People with active cancer are usually advised to avoid growth factors and growth hormone-raising compounds.
    • Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
    • Prohibited in competitive sport (WADA).

    Common stacks

    • IGF-1 DES or IGF-1 LR3: some users take IGF-1 on training days and PEG-MGF on rest days.
    • Growth hormone peptides.

    Storage

Powder: refrigerate or freeze. After mixing: refrigerate at 2–8 °C and use within about 3–4 weeks.

    Compare with

    • MGF: short-acting and local.
    • IGF-1 LR3: a long-acting IGF-1 with broader effects.

    Frequently asked questions

Why take it on rest days?

Users report that keeping it apart from post-workout IGF-1 lets each work at a different stage of repair.
