Testagen

In plain English

Testagen is a very short peptide (Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly) from the Russian bioregulator research tradition led by Vladimir Khavinson. It is aimed at the testes, and is thought to help that tissue keep working the way it did when younger.

What it's used for

  • Male hormone support
  • Healthy aging

Benefits

Most research is in cell and animal studies from Russia. Users report better energy and libido.

How it works

In simple terms: bioregulators are thought to act like tiny instructions that switch on healthy, tissue-specific genes.

Peptides this small may enter cells and the nucleus, where they are thought to bind DNA and influence the activity of genes linked to the testes’s normal function and repair.

Development history

  • 2000s: Developed at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, part of a family of short peptides designed from organ extracts.

Typical protocols

Educational information only, not medical advice. The information below describes how this peptide has been used in research, on prescription labels or by users. It is not a recommendation. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping or changing anything.

Doses vary widely between sources; these ranges are what users commonly report.

Use Dose Frequency Length
Standard course 1–2 mg Daily 10–20 days

Cycling

Short courses repeated two or three times a year, the usual pattern for bioregulators.

Administration options

Subcutaneous injection.

Reconstitution and dosing calculator

Usually comes in 10 mg or 20 mg vials, mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water.

1Peptide in the vial

The total amount printed on the vial label.

2Bacteriostatic water added

More water makes each dose a bigger, easier-to-measure draw. It does not change how much peptide is in the vial.

3Dose per injection

Use the dose from your protocol or your clinician. 1 mg = 1,000 mcg.

4Your syringe

All three are U-100 insulin syringes: 100 units = 1 mL. Smaller barrels make small doses easier to read.

    Side effects and safety

    • Users report it is generally well tolerated; injection-site redness is the most common complaint.
    • Very little safety data in people outside Russian studies.
    • Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

    Common stacks

    Prostamax: for the prostate.

    Storage

Powder: refrigerate or freeze. After mixing: refrigerate at 2–8 °C and use within about 3 weeks.

    Compare with

HCG and gonadorelin: have strong human data for testosterone and fertility.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a bioregulator?

A very short peptide, often just two to four amino acids, developed in Russia to support a specific organ.

    Why short courses?

Bioregulators are thought to have effects that last well beyond the course, so they are taken in brief cycles a few times a year.
